Art on Display @ Visitor Parking
Art On Display @ Visitor Parking
The most common usage of the word "art," which peaked into the English language sometime after 1750, is understood to denote skill used to produce an aesthetic result. Britannica Online defines it as "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others."
The broadest sense of art is the one that has remained closest to the older Latin meaning, which roughly translates to "skill" or "craft," and also from an Indo-European root meaning "arrangement" or "to arrange". In this sense, art is whatever is described as having undergone a deliberate process of arrangement by an agent.
Visitor Parking showcases many arrangements of art throughout it's showroom, which is displayed as accent pieces to the modern furniture that is all over the store. Recently, Visitor Parking has selected some Celebrity Art canvas prints to add flare to the interior design of the store.
A collage of some of the art is shown below >>>
Also on display is the phenomenal works of Parvez Michel, Inc - which is hip artwork that meets the design and budget of contemporary environments.
Some of the artwork shown below include: Prints on canvas, aluminum, bamboo, and sorghum *(Kirei board).
* Kirei board constructed from the left-over, post-harvest stalks of the sorghum plant. Designed to be strong, lightweight, environmentally friendly and sustainable, Kirei Board is intended for wall coverings, cabinetry, furniture, flooring and other decorative and finished products. Kirei Board is used as a decorative material in its own right, featuring it's visually distinctive grain.

Mirror Mirror On The Brick Wall...
A mirror or looking glass is an object with at least one polished and therefore a specular reflective surface. The most familiar type of mirror is the plane mirror, which has a flat surface. Mirrors are commonly used for personal grooming (in which case the old-fashioned term "looking-glass" can be used), decoration, and architecture.
Mirrors, typically large and unframed, are frequently used in interior decoration to create an illusion of space, and amplify the apparent size of a room. Mirrors are used also in some schools of feng shui, an ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. The softness of old mirrors is sometimes replicated by contemporary artisans for use in interior design. These reproduction antiqued mirrors are works of art and can bring color and texture to an otherwise hard, cold reflective surface. It is an artistic process that has been attempted by many and perfected by few.
Stop by the Visitor Parking showroom and check out the selection of mirrors on display.

Rugs
Visitor Parking's design tips on rugs and hides.
>> Selecting the perfect rug. With a variety of designs to choose from, you can use area rugs to make a style statement. Here's how to use them. 1. Use rugs to add warmth, colour and vibrancy to a room. 2. Placed effectively, rugs can help reduce noise levels. 3. On wall to wall carpets, rugs add a dimension of luxury. 4. On a carpeted or hard floor surface, rugs can be used to define a dining area or a conversation area. Size matters: Dining room- choose a rug that is two feet shorter than the smallest wall in the room. Dining room rugs should extend at least 24 inches beyond the edge of the table so that the rug accommodates the dining chairs. Bedroom- try runners at each side and even the foot of the bed, or place a rug one-third of the way under the bed so the rest of the rug creates a nice mat at the bottom of the bed. Living room- rugs should fit the configuration of the room and furniture. if your rug doesn't reach under all the furniture in your room's central area, it's too small. Fibres:Wool - for durability, softness and stain resistance, this is the Rolls Royce of natural fibres. The colours are rich, and the feeling is so plush. So for a good, durable rug that can stand up to wear and tear, this is always your best bet. Today, more than ever the options are endless and really set the tone for a room or create an accent for an exciting room decor. The prices vary widely and you can always find something to suit your budget. Sisal - this fibre offers remarkable strength and durability with no pile to crush down. The natural look is ideal for any room in your house except high moisture areas. It comes in all kinds of weaves and muted colors. Seagrass - it's another exotic natural fibre. It offers a combination of great durability, attractive looks and low cost. Seagrass is stain resistant and works in humid areas. Its a nice smooth texture, however, is not a great choice for stairs. Nylon - it's the all around best performing synthetic fibre. Bar none. Good durability, east to clean, resistant to both soil and mildew. It's an ideal choice for any room in the house. Polyester - this is a wonderful fibre featuring gorgeous colours. It's extremely fade resistant and offers excellent stain resistance. Hides
If you want reliability and quality with a touch of beauty, comfort and elegance in your house, cowhide rugs are proven to give you this delight. These are the very reasons for the growing demands on these soft and luxurious cowhide products all over the world. On quality, Cowhide rugs are the by-products of imported cattle from the famous cow breeding countries like Brazil and Argentina. Each piece of fur is special and unique for there are no two pieces that look the same. This kind of uniqueness is achieved in the tannery. The traditional hair or hide tanning technique is used to guarantee that the hide is soft, less odor and molting. Reliability wise, a properly tanned cowhide rug should last for a lifetime. It must never be cracking or shedding off all the time, thus making it a good and a sound investment. True enough, Cowhide rugs are way better than synthetic rugs for the former last longer. In terms of safety and hazards, cowhide rugs are totally free from horrid stuff of bleaching and dying. Also, these rugs are environment friendly due to the less polluting production process they underwent as compared to other rugs. A unique rug made from the cowhide tends to decorate the modern homes and offices with some degree of high class and of notable style. So when purchasing a cowhide rug, it is sensible that you go to a reputable rug store. With a sophisticated rug, the aesthetic look of the house also says a lot about the owner. It reveals the owner's high taste for home decors. This in turn, may invite admiration from other people. Simply put, the elegance of the rug can be transferred to the owners. Truly, a piece of top quality cowhide rug is a luxury. It is a guaranteed investment because of its reliable and quality materials. A piece of rug that you will not be ashamed to display anywhere in your house. It is something that speaks highly about the owner's personal taste and preference.
Visitor Parking is where to shop for your perfect rug.

Dining Furniture - Dining Tables & Dining Chairs
Dining Chairs are chairs for dining tables in dining rooms...? Maybe a hundred years ago, or for a traditional household that has the space to label a room the "dining room", and then of course they would have a dining table & dining chairs to fit into that space. BUT, for the majority of city dwellers, tendency would be to have a table and chairs which fits into a smaller space. Mind you the table is used for eating (aka dining table), and when eating at the table we are seated on chairs (guess they could be referred to as...dining chairs)...
Anyway, lets talk about the transition from the formal dining room to the modern day kitchen area. Here is a little more for you city dwellers to digest about the dining room and its furniture...
A dining room is a room for consuming food. In modern times it is usually adjacent to the kitchen for convenience in serving, although in medieval times it was often on an entirely different floor level. Historically the dining room is furnished with a rather large dining table and a number of dining chairs; the most common table shape is generally rectangular with two armed end chairs and an even number of un-armed side chairs along the long sides.
In the Middle Ages, upper class Britons and other European nobility in castles or large manor houses dined in the Great Hall. This was a large multi-function room capable of seating the bulk of the population of the house. The family would sit at the head table on a raised dais, with the rest of the population arrayed in order of diminishing rank away from them. Tables in the great hall would tend to be long trestle tables with benches. The sheer number of people in a Great Hall meant it would probably have had a busy, bustling atmosphere. Suggestions that it would also have been quite smelly and smoky are probably, by the standards of the time, unfounded. The owners of such properties began to develop a taste for more intimate gatherings in smaller 'parlors' or privee parlors' off the main hall. Over time, the nobility took more of their meals in the parlor, and the parlor became, functionally, a dining room (or was split into two separate rooms). Eventually dining in the Great Hall became something that was done primarily on special occasions.A typical dining room will contain a dining table with dining chairs arranged along the sides and ends of the table, as well as other pieces of furniture. In modern homes, the dining room is increasingly used only for formal dining with guests or on special occasions. Informal daily meals are often taken in the kitchen, breakfast nook or family room. This was traditionally the case in England, where the dining room would for many families be used only on Sundays, other meals being eaten in the kitchen. Often tables in modern dining rooms will have a removable leaf to allow for the larger number of people present on those special occasions without taking up extra space when not in use. Although the "typical" family dining experience is at a "dining table" or some sort of kitchen area, some choose to make their dining rooms more comfortable by using sofas or comfortable chairs...
